The Mondejar Gallery

Mondejar Gallery was founded in 2008 by art patron and curator Minerva Mondejar Steiner, with the support of Swiss film director Michael Steiner. Since its inception, Mondejar Gallery has established itself as a premier space for contemporary art, celebrated for its innovative exhibitions and influential role in the global art community.

Within just two years, Mondejar Gallery gained recognition as a leading venue, featured in prestigious publications such as the Louis Vuitton Art Guide and extensively covered by prominent Swiss media, including Tages Anzeiger, NZZ, SRF, and arttv.ch. Every exhibition, meticulously curated by Minerva Mondejar Steiner, reflects a commitment to excellence and originality, engaging audiences and fostering dialogue in the contemporary art scene.

Old Masters and Artefacts Collection

Mondejar Gallery bridges the past and present by offering an extraordinary collection of Old Masters, featuring works by some of the most revered artists from the European Renaissance to the 20th century. These timeless masterpieces provide collectors and art enthusiasts with the opportunity to acquire culturally and historically significant pieces that celebrate humanity’s artistic achievements.

In addition to the Old Masters collection, the gallery showcases a curated selection of artefacts and subfossils. These rare treasures bridge history, nature, and artistic expression, offering a profound connection to humanity’s heritage and the natural world. Together, these collections embody Mondejar Gallery’s dedication to preserving history while inspiring a deeper appreciation of art, culture, and history.

Philanthropic Mission

Mondejar Gallery operates under the JE Mondejar Computer College Association (JEMCCA), a Switzerland-based non-profit organisation that supports the JE Mondejar Computer College, an educational foundation located in Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines.

Minerva Mondejar Steiner’s philanthropic initiatives began in response to the devastation caused by super-typhoon Haiyan. Mobilising her network to deliver immediate aid, she established the M. Mondejar Steiner Foundation, which has been instrumental in:

  • Reconstructing the college’s facilities.
  • Launching critical feeding and educational programmes.
  • Awarding scholarships to ensure uninterrupted education for students.
These efforts have empowered countless students to pursue their dreams and access quality education. For more information, please visit mondejar.edu
