The Mondejar Gallery was founded in 2008 by curator Minerva Mondejar Steiner and Swiss movie director Michael Steiner. After only two years, the gallery was listed in several publications as an innovative gallery, among them are Louis Vuitton Art Guide, Swiss newspapers, television stations covered the activities of the gallery.
The gallery is managed by Minerva Mondejar Steiner and runs under JE Mondejar Computer College Association (JEMCCA), a non-profit organisation in Switzerland. The organisation supports JE Mondejar Computer College Foundation in Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines.
Minerva Mondejar Steiner’s philanthropic work started when super-typhoon Haiyan hit Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines. She mobilised her friends and used her connections to provide immediate relief to Taclobanons in the aftermath. She is the founder of M. Mondejar Steiner Foundation that helped in the rebuilding of the damaged facilities of JE Mondejar Computer College Foundation and the implementation of numerous feeding and out-of-school programs.
