Mondejar Gallery Collaborates with Saatchi Gallery for “Sacred Land/Yvy Katu” Exhibition Featuring Fundraising Auction in Support of Planethon-365
London, England - In collaboration with Saatchi Gallery, Mondejar Gallery presents Sacred Land/Yvy Katu, an exhibition featuring works by Conor Mccreedy and Christian Neuenschwander, alongside 6,500-year-old subfossil oak trees and artefacts connecting art with nature’s ancient resilience.
Curated by Daniella Celine Williams and Giulietta Bateman, Sacred Land/Yvy Katu also includes contributions from artists such as Angel Ortiz, Arnaud Bourgain, Conrad Shawcross, David Yarrow, Diana Gomez, Olivier Mourao, and Tigerlily Lewis, as well as prehistoric artefacts from Stone Gallery.
A highlight of the event is a live fundraising auction conducted by Lord Dalmeny of Sotheby’s, with proceeds benefiting SOS Amazônia, Amazonia Alerta, and Mothers of the Amazon through Planethon-365, an initiative dedicated to supporting environmental sustainability and preservation.
The exhibition is scheduled for Wednesday, 27th November 2024, from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm at Saatchi Gallery.

Mondejar Gallery’s Founder Minerva Mondejar Steiner Supports Young Art Film at St. Moritz Art Film Festival 2024
St. Moritz, Switzerland – Minerva Mondejar Steiner, founder of Mondejar Gallery and a member of the St. Moritz Art Film Festival (SMAFF), recently attended and supported the 2024 edition of the festival, a prestigious platform dedicated to young and experimental art films. This year’s festival, held from 12–15 September, centred on the theme “Meanwhile Histories” and featured a diverse selection of 40 screenings that challenged conventional perspectives on time and history.
The festival drew a global audience, with notable attendees including artists such as Flavio Paolucci, Michel Auder, Naeem Mohaiemen, and the duo Gerard & Kelly. The international jury, comprising Chomwan Weeraworawit, Luciano Rigolini, and Natalia Sielewicz, awarded top honours, including Best Feature Film for Preemptive Listening by Aura Satz and Best Short & Experimental Film for Parsi by Eduardo Williams.
Under the direction of Artistic Director Stefano Rabolli Pansera and Managing Director Diana Segantini, SMAFF continues to be a vital centre for cultural and philosophical exploration in the Engadin Valley. Mondejar Gallery Participates “Salt of the Earth” Premiere at Venice
5-7 September 2024, Venice, Italy – Mondejar Gallery had the honour of participating in the world premiere of Salt of the Earth, a multimedia production by Sophie Hunter Studio that highlights the urgent need to protect salt marsh ecosystems. Held during the Venice Biennale and Venice Film Festival, this event offered a compelling blend of art and environmental awareness.
Inspired by the resilience of salt marshes and their critical role in combating climate change, Salt of the Earth reimagines the story of Lot’s wife through a female-led narrative. The production combines theatre, music, and immersive storytelling to bring attention to the environmental crisis and the loss of these vital ecosystems.
The premiere attracted esteemed patrons, environmentalists, and artists, including actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who, along with other ambassadors, supported the production’s impactful message. Tacloban City, Philippines – 8 July until 8 August 2022 – The opening of Mondejar Gallery’s exhibition at the JE Mondejar Computer College Function Hall was graced by prominent figures, including Mayor Alfred Romualdez, General Bernard Banac, Vice-Governor Atty. Carlo Loreto, esteemed art patrons Dr. Bernadette Mondejar-Schlueter, and JE Mondejar Computer College President Madame Lucita Mondejar. Their attendance underscored the cultural significance of this exhibition, reflecting a strong commitment to nurturing and preserving the region’s artistic legacy.
Curated by Minerva Mondejar Steiner, founder of Mondejar Gallery, the exhibition featured the creative works of Tacloban’s finest artists, including Dante Enage, Mel Tagana, Aljun Alvarez, Joan Bituin, Philip Salem, Kenn Manatad, Aulefrau, Kimberly Ann Yau, Aldrin Mercado, Myra Medalla, Yobz Temporosa, Jimmy Barredo, Steve Acerden, and Clint Gonzales. Many of these artists were mentored by Madame Dulce Cuna, a respected professor at the University of the Philippines, whose guidance has greatly influenced Tacloban’s emerging art scene and helped shape the next generation of creative talent.
This thoughtfully curated collection offered a profound exploration of Tacloban’s rich artistic heritage, bringing together both emerging and established voices. The exhibition provided an intellectual platform for these artists to showcase their distinctive visions, inviting audiences to engage with Tacloban’s unique cultural identity. By highlighting the city’s creative voices, Mondejar Gallery reinforced its commitment to fostering cultural appreciation and provided a reflective space for audiences to experience the resilience, narrative richness, and evolving aesthetic sensibilities of Tacloban’s artistic community.

Mondejar Gallery Hosts Film Benefit Featuring Brillante Mendoza’s Ma’ Rosa in Zurich
24 May 2017, Zurich, Switzerland – Mondejar Gallery held its first annual Film Benefit featuring the Cannes-awarded Filipino director Brillante Mendoza, who presented his acclaimed film Ma’ Rosa at Arthouse Cinema Alba in Zurich. Known for its raw portrayal of the Philippine drug war, Ma’ Rosa provided the audience with a unique perspective on socio-political issues, fostering a deeper cultural exchange between Switzerland and the Philippines.
The evening, attended by representatives from the Philippine Embassy, included a Q&A session with Mendoza, followed by a dinner at Commihalle. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions around the film’s themes, highlighting the gallery’s commitment to using art as a medium for social awareness and dialogue.
Proceeds from the benefit were directed towards Mondejar Gallery’s advocacy programmes, particularly initiatives supporting livelihood projects for families affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
